About Us

Shaping the Future

MYU is committed to impacting the youth of Montreal. Through broad exposure to the message and training those who respond, leaders will surface who will help to shape our nation’s future.

The teen population contains tomorrow’s leaders. The pressure to conform and to compete is a victory for some and a life challenge for others. Youth Unlimited recognizes the need to help train and equip young leaders with the values of Christ while demonstrating those values through the care of troubled and challenged teens. Our strategies reflect this balanced approach through diversity of ministry and partnership with the local church and other like-minded organisations.

Helping to shape the future is at the heart of MYU. One third of the population is under the age of 25 and the opportunity before us as youth specialists is enormous. Young people are looking for a truth that works and today’s culture is longing to know God. Youth Unlimited communicates in ways that are relevant to this generation.

MYU is a non-denominational ministry. Its staff, board members, and volunteers, come from almost every denomination. The priority in locating workers is to find individuals who love young people and who love God.

Each local Youth Unlimited chapter is an autonomous member of Youth Unlimited Canada which upholds standards for training & accreditation. A local Board is recruited to operate the ministry.

Origins

Youth for Christ began in 1945 following a spontaneous growth of youth related outreaches during and immediately following World War II. A young Billy Graham was the organization’s first staff member. Today, the ministry spans the globe. Our mission Youth for Christ exists to help young people attain their full life potential, showing love and care for their whole person, and encouraging them to serve God as fully devoted followers of Jesus.
