A staff to lean on…
Father’s Day; June 15th, 2003- marked the very first birth date of Options Pregnancy Center… Unintentional- yet fitting, we feel, as the concept of “family” truly lies at the heart and center of our ministry… A concept quickly fleeting and losing so-called “validity” in our ever-changing world…
We are here to encourage, to uplift, to strengthen, inform and to help rebuild! Simply stated- we LOVE families 
And although many who walk through our doors are oftentimes going through what seems to be “trial and tribulation”- we still consider our center to be a place of celebration and hope! Broken hearts mended, children loved- in the arms of Mom & Dad, and outreaching a helping hand to those who simply need a staff to lean on. To us, these “trivial” pebbles in some people’s eyes- are HUGE milestone in ours. Baby steps toward something beautiful…
With a foundational staff of about 10, including co-directors Teddy & Linda Hoare, 6 undergoing training and countless others who volunteer regularly- Options is made up of an active “family-styled” team with a pure heart to LOVE those in need throughout our communities. You are bound to feel the floodgates open up as you step into the center! Although each one involved in this work is quite different- young and old- we all hold certain core values to heart; compassion, understanding… HOPE! Our center is a place marked with a nonjudgmental spirit. All are accepted, all are equally welcomed in.
Undeniably a Christ-centered organization; we base our “mission” on one that holds fast to the TRUE teachings of Jesus. Although the media loves to show extreme and often sketchy versions; hateful picketers outside clinics, buildings that “preform abortions” bombed or burned down, and others who just simply want to fight- we’d rather humbly rest on the portraits that Jesus Himself left us with in the Bible… Images of Him sitting with the outcast, loving the disregarded- dying for those who sinned against Him. Ultimate service and sacrificial love- this is what we long to imitate. Christ wouldn’t be found condemning a broken-hearted lady walking out the doors of an abortion clinic- but rather- He’d be the one holding her in His loving arms and wiping away each and every tear shed.
Matthew 5:1-10 (Jesus speaking…)
Now when he saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Through a number of avenues, be it- counseling, teaching, serving, equipping, or even getting a little dirty- we celebrate LIFE altogether, and long to facilitate others in their quest to do so as well
